Uga with your hand

Your palm is his face. Your fingers are his hair.

A fine brush begins painting Uga’s face on the handprint.

The drawing cannot be done by anyone else, because no other hand is this hand. That is a simple, solid thing for a small child to hold on to.

Step by step

  1. Paint the fingers

    Paint the fingers brown: they will become Uga’s hair.

  2. Paint the palm

    Choose a colour for the face and paint the palm. We used orange in these photos.

  3. Make a handprint

    Place the hand on the paper with fingers spread. Press gently and lift without sliding.

  4. Touch up the print

    If you like, use a brush to fill gaps in the face and add a few strands of hair.

  5. Add the face

    Let the base dry. Then paint the eyes and mouth to give your Uga an expression.

  6. Your Uga is ready!

    Let the finishing touches dry and write the date. Every hand makes a different Uga.

Uga’s tip

Write the date underneath. In a year that hand will be much bigger.
