Uga in your day · Sadness

When they feel sad

Something is lost, a plan has changed or they miss someone. You can make room for their sadness without needing to make it disappear.

1 · Watch together

Uga and The Portrait

Uga makes a portrait for Lulu, but the wind carries it away. He tries to restore it and learns that some things cannot return exactly as they were. Lulu does not rush the feeling away; he simply stays close. Later, the rain brings an unexpected new possibility.

How does Lulu stay close to Uga?

2 · Words to offer

That mattered to you. It is okay to feel sad. Would you like me to sit with you?

Wait for their response, including a gesture. Offer closeness without insisting on a hug or asking for a smile. They may not want to talk today.

3 · Away from the screen

A drawing for something special

5–10 minutes · Paper and large crayons · With an adult

  1. Invite them to draw something or someone they care about. Marks of colour are welcome too; no explanation is needed.
  2. Ask whether they want to draw beside you, have some help or simply have you nearby.
  3. Let them choose where to keep the drawing. You can finish even if they still feel sad.

There is no need to answer: watch, point or simply sit together. Choose a quiet moment; the video can wait.
